The Latest UDWI REMC Community Fund, Inc. Grant to FHFH Will Help Provide Food for Those in Need

Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry (FHFH), a nonprofit organization that utilizes its network of hunters and farmers to provide meat to local food pantries, was chosen as a recent recipient of a UDWI REMC Community Fund, Inc. grant totaling $3,000.

UDWI REMC Member Appreciation Day Canceled Due to Power Outages

Due to the severe thunderstorms and high winds that swept through the service territory, Utilities District of Western Indiana REMC must cancel its annual Member Appreciation Day, scheduled for Friday, June 20.

UDWI REMC Names Shane Smith as New CEO

The Utilities District of Western Indiana REMC has named Shane Smith as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Zackary Moorman joined UDWI REMC in 2024 and started the Hoosier Energy Apprenticeship, Training and Safety (HEATS) program. Recently, he has completed his first year of training, and today he is officially moving into his second year as an apprentice!

Zack is known to be a hardworking team member at UDWI, and we commend his commitment to his trade as he works towards becoming a Journeyman. Please join us in congratulating Zack on reaching this important milestone in his apprenticeship journey!

Having nearly 5 years and over 8,000 hours of training and education, Jacob has recently graduated from the program and has proven his skill, focus, and commitment to working safely on energized lines. As part of the community, UDWI REMC is happy to support the recently-formed Greene County Long -Term Recovery Group (LTRG) , which was formed after the severe storm on May 16 to provide disaster relief efforts to those in Greene County. If you, or someone you know, is still recovering from the recent disaster, check out the federal, state, and local support that may be available to them through the LTRG by following their Facebook page.
